Application Process
Step 1: Review the following to determine whether your organization is eligible to apply for a grant:
Step 2: If eligible, complete the online Letter of Inquiry (LOI)
If your organization is eligible to apply for BSCF funding, you can complete our online Letter of Inquiry (LOI) form and submit to Foundation staff for review. LOIs are accepted on a rolling basis.
Step 3: Blue Shield of California Foundation Review of LOI
On average, the Foundation reviews all letters of inquiry within 90 days of receipt. Within 90 days, applicants will be advised if either: (1) additional information or full proposal is needed for further consideration, or (2) Foundation staff are not recommending a project for funding. Note: A request for full proposal is not a guarantee of funding.
Step 4: Submission of Full Proposal and Board Decision
If invited to submit a full proposal, you will be directed to our online proposal form. After you submit your proposal, it will be reviewed by the appropriate Foundation staff member(s), who may contact you to request additional information and/or schedule a site visit. Once a funding decision is made, you will receive notice from the Foundation. Funding decisions are typically made within 90 days of proposal submission. It is important to note that an invitation to submit a full proposal is not a guarantee of grant funding.
